The supercharged Cobalt SS engine is an LSJ, which is a destroked L61 Ecotec with a Eaton M62 slapped on.
The same engine is in the Saturn Ion Red Line. People should stop believing internet rumors until GM makes an official press release.

But isnt the Ecotec in the Supercharged Cobalt the 2.2???
So, working up the 2.4, which has more HP to begin with, should
result in more power than the Cobalt.
One thing I never understood is why car companies turbo and super charge the smaller engines. Why not start out with the engines producing more HP? Is the engine that much weaker from the larger bore? Will the longer stroke be a problem? I think not.
