10 Worst autos for 2007
Its like the reviews that always tag the HHR as "underpowered", and say the base 2.2 "barely motivates" the HHR.
My 2.2 will flat scoot if I need it to. Kickdown isn't a neck snapper, but I don't expect that in a 4 cyl. Off the line pull is not bad at all. And it is averaging 26 - 27 mpg in mixed city/suburban driving. Very good balance of economy and functionality if you ask me!

One car that is so hideous that it makes me actually like it is the Pontiac Aztec. Anyone who has the guts to drive one those mutants deserves respect. I actually like the Aztec for being so awful, if that makes sense!

Atleast no one put the HHR in there !
See, now I can't stand that black or charcoal color matte finish plastic they put all over some vehicles. True, lot of cars have plastic or composite body panels and/or bumpers but if its painted body color like the HHR's bumpers are, at least it doesn't *look* like a plastic car. Plus, after about 3 or 4 years that black plastic turns grey from UV sunlight and makes the vehicle look more worn and old than it is.
My wife has a 08 Jeep Compass and I drove it acouple weeks ago for the only time. Has the 2.4L and I was surprised at the get up it had. Roads were slightly wet from a light rain and wife yelled at me for spinning the tires at start up, also I was on an interstate and it seemed to have good passing power. I had read that the design was directed towards the female population anyway. I also read one time that the HHR couldn't get out of its own way in a review, so these reviews seem to be one sided. Drive what you like is what I say. There will always be someone that doesn't like it.
It's essentially an Isuzu engine. All new midsize trucks and SUVs were being co-designed with Isuzu in the late '90s and badged under GM and Isuzu brands. It would be nice if GM would toss the abysmal 4.3 V6 once and for all, but sadly I think the Atlas 6 will disappear once the GMT360s stop production in '10.
