While I dont have 100,000 miles, its good to see that the HHR's are running good into the 100,000 mile mark. Myself I have a bit to go, just turned 63,000 I have had the HHR four years now!

Funny thing about low mileage is that leaving a car sit is tougher on it than driving it.

Exactly!

My Grandpa has a '91 Silverado he bought new. Only has 41k miles on it. He uses it for camping, in fact it has a truck camper on it that never comes off. Has never seen the winter, and is in excellent shape. Been in the shop countless times for things that break or quit working and whatnot. Sitting has hurt it.

Some people (not me) call the HHR a "mini" van.
My insurance co calls it a station wagon.
Some even dare to call it a PT Cruiser...

I couldn't care less what people call it-I like it ("a rose by any other name...").

Oh, and on topic, I've got about 35K to go before I join the 100K club.

That's exactly why I bought the SS as a daily driver. I wanted something that looked cool and different, got good gas mileage, had good utility, and still drove aggressively and was a blast to pilot.

Now buying a Camaro SS or Mustang GT might be a different story, although I'd still consider it.

A low mileage SS 5-10 years from now will be worth very little. Very few cars are actually an investment in which mileage makes a whole lot of difference in resale value. A used HHR with 60K miles vs 100K miles might make a $2K difference in resale. Not a big difference.

Besides, if I didn't use the SS as a daily driver (20K miles/year), then I'd have to fork over more money to buy something to drive every day.

I just looked on Kelly Blue Book, and my 1999 Lumina with almost 150k miles is worth $2,035 (according to them...)

If the same car had only 40k miles on it, it'd be worth $3,460.

That's $1,425 more because it was never enjoyed. If that little bit is worth it for you, go for it. Otherwise get out there and enjoy the car!

Drove my HHR daily for past three years and love it, however I bought the wife a Camaro SS for her to drive and she loves it. After I sold her old car , a big Deville she started driving the Camaro a while, then she started driving the HHR a while now she likes the HHR more!

Now I am FORCED to drive the dang ol' 2010 2SS Camaro..........could be worse.

so what you guys are saying is, that as i near the 100,000 mark in my 06 (less than 500 miles to go!), there's still plenty of potential life and to not feel bad about dropping a little cash in the "eye candy" area?
