2.2 / 2.4 valve cover

i came accross a post about this before but now I cant seem to find it...is there any difference between the valve covers for the 2.2 and 2.4...are they exact fit? any gains if go 2.4? If i remember correctly on the 2.4 there are 2 holes on the side for some kind of hookup that the 2.2 doesnt have..is this true?

You won't get any preformance gains from swapping valve covers. Yes they should be a direct fit. As as far as the 2 holes....not sure about that but they may just be for vaccum lines.

Looking at those pics, I'd say it's not a direct fit. The mounting points at the cam sprockets are definatly different. The 2.4 even has one in the center.

Is the one for the 2.2 the non VVT varieth?

I believe the 2006 2.2 did not have vvt . Seems like it was in 07 that it went to the vvt where as the 2.4 was always had vvt. I know it read it someplace on the forum.

The 2.2 added vvt in 2009+, with flexfuel capability.
