so according to GM , all automatic HHR's come with a remote start..so how do the people with automatic transmissions use this feature if we dont have the AP3 code? Is it something that the dealer can turn on/add?

 

mine is NOT a rental..and its automatic..so i have no idea why it doesnt show up on the DIC...if GM claims that all automatics came with remote start, then how do i access it without having AP3 code and no remote start option on the DIC ?

 

I'm guessing if you bought your used, maybe the code got deleted somehow by a dealer with the programming tool or someone with a tool did it. I deleted my other post since I saw it was repeat info given prior. I'm thinking only a dealer can answer your question on why it does not show up in the DIC

Do you have the hood switch which is mentioned in the thd https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-tutorial-library-21/how-add-gm-remote-start-without-option-ap3-28551/ the switch is right behind the hood latch and isn't easy to see.

 

Sounds like you have been given some bad information.

If "all automatics HHr's come with a remote start", then what about the rentals with the remote delete? And the others with no AP3?

Your "according to GM" info is obviously wrong. Not sure who your GM contact was, but if they all had remote start, shouldn't the car show the AP3 code? Just saying.

 

thats whats frustrating me since that was told to me by TWO different dealerships..the only exception was the rental/fleets might have it disabled or deleted..
