No offense taken. I am NOT an expert by any means but do have a basic knowledge. Sometimes terms used are presented differently than what I am familiar with. Yes, I do know that the two slots on tap are sequenced. Your clarification is well taken. I will make sure fuse is in the right slot. Your clarifications basically confirmed what I was thinking. Now I know for sure that fuses don't impact computer. I am a believer in asking the question and not assuming I am correct. It's nice, though, when I'm confirmed. ;-) Everyone who has contributed to this thread has been kind and helpful. I'm happy to know that and will make this site my first contact for questions to come. Thank you!!

Fuse Adapter Install Info

.NONE of the fuses are controlled by any computer. The computer does not care about fuses, NO programming needed. "Spare" means that the output side is not connected to anything and the hot side is connected to the battery positive.
Please don't be offended: I'm not sure you should be messing with thing electrical, you don't seem have a basic understanding. Maybe you are an expert and I'm wrong.

I decided to insert a utube video I found particularly helpful in explaining what DonBrew was telling me. I hope this helps anyone else that reads this thread and has questions about using an adapter.
. My project is done. I want to note that the interior console fuse block design, and the fuse adapter harness size and orientation, limited which open "spare" RAP slot I could use. I successfully hooked up my salvaged power port, and connected my Garmin GPS power cord to power up when car is started and turns off when door is opened. Best Regards and thanks to each contributor. -Connie

So with fuses, size matters, and if you tap it, orientation matter too. Got it.

Re: The diameter of the in-dash power port vs the rear console power port:
On closer inspection today, the center console power port had 2 pennies lodged inside preventing the use of the port! - Sorry. Never mind! I deleted my "help" question.
And now my tire inflator AND phone can be plugged in now. My apologies for not discovering that earlier.
I hope I didn't damage the 15 amp circuit for the in-dash port because it burned out two 15 amp fuses before I stopped inflating the tire.

Thanks for the quick reply, Oldblue!
I think the 2nd blown fuse turned off the engine at the same time! Is that usually possible? Unless in my haste (it was raining at the time, yesterday) I forgot to turn on the engine that 2nd time? IDK.

The power ports front and rear are the same in my 2007 and my 2011. I’m wondering if you have the smokers option the front would be different then for a cigarette lighter

still my rear ports work with garmin and phone charger even my tire inflation pump works in both front and rear

The fuse for the dash outlet also supplies the OBD port.

Been contemplating adding a 'third' power port behind the dash, I have a Bluetooth adapter, phone charger, and my 2M radio all to be plugged in and it would be nice if they were through the ignition/door switch. The 2m radio does need to be disconnected when I am not driving, a Radio licensing thing where if a non-licensed driver is using a vehicle with a radio installed, it needs to be disabled. Kind of dumb as they won't know how to work it but so be it.
