Time from the customer because they have to spend time getting it done, and money from GM because one can't tell me that GM gets the paint for free. When several are complaining about the exact same issue, that's a design flaw.

OK, so GM already goes out of it's way to fix something that the HHR clearly does not cause (IE: road debris). On top of that, running boards were to be installed "at customer cost". GM strives for customer satisfaction. There was never any obligation for them to repair for free in the first place!

I had chips like everyone is getting on the rear quarter panels of their HHR on my Mustang. If I told Ford it was a design flaw and it was their fault so fix it they would have laughed me out of the dealership.
