2009 hhr

Bought a used 2009 HHR LT2 3 weeks ago with 25,040 miles.Went to a Chevy dealer today for some touch up paint.I asked for a warrany history report and it showed the car was last serviced at 34,401 miles in June of 2011 before it was traded in at a Ford dealer which is where I bought it.I am really concerned??Any chance this could be a data entry error at some point at the Chevy dealer. How probable would it be for someone to roll back the milage by 9300 miles? We did a Autocheck and no problems were reported and it stated it was traded in at 25040 miles.Any suggestions of what I should do?

Could easily, and most likely, be a fat finger error on the work order mileage. See if anyone can locate the previous few & see if they fall below the 24K mark.

Probably a typo but worth tracking down more service records if possible.

DMV may have mileage reports for each year registered also..... (some states do, some don't) Dealer might have to get those for you though as the DMV won't give info to "just anybody". Also have the place you bought it from supply a carfax and look for any irregularities, carfax isn't fool proof but the dealer should have supplied you with one before the sale. Of special note was the car from another state?

Smile

We have the signed odometor statement and a AutoCheck buy back garantee for 25,040 miles.I spoke with the Ford dealer who sold us the HHR and they said it most likely a typo or a lazy service writer who didnt check the milage. He did suggest we report this to GM and they might look into it.
The car was a local trade and they even called the other owner to verify the milage. This is a really nice clean car and my wife really likes it since I made her trade in her Mustang instead of mine.

Dear bossgt82,

I have read your post about the discrepancy with the mileage information with your 2009 Chevrolet HHR. I apologize for this inconvenience.

I would have to agree with timehhr2 and others on the forum, that this could have been an error when it was last taken into a dealership for service. If you would like to provide me with the VIN of your vehicle, I would happy to see what I can do about this. I can't promise anything, but I can look into this for you and see what avenues might be available to get this corrected.
