motoretro,

From the information that is available to me, the 2006 model year of the Chevrolet HHR had the 2.4L Ecotec engine with 172 horsepower and it came standard with the 5 speed manual transmission.

The 2.4L Ecotec engine was standard along with the five speed manual transmission on the 2007 Chevrolet HHR 2LT. However this engine was an option and the manual transmission was standard on the 1lt trim level of the 2007 model year.

The 5 speed manual transmission was standard on all the trim levels of the 2008 model year of the HHR. However, for the 2008 model year of this vehicle the 2.4L Ecotec engine was offered on the 1LT, 2LT trim level and the same trim levels for the panel edition of the HHR for that model year.

For the 2009 model year, The 2.4L Ecotec engine was standard on the 2LT trim level, but it was an option for the 1LT trim level. This engine information would also be the same for the 2009 HHR Panel vehicles. There were two different 5 speed manual transmissions for the 2009 model year. One was available on the SS trim level and the other manual transmission was available on the LS and LT trim levels.

For the 2010 Chevrolet HHR 1LT and Panel HHR of the same trim level, the 2.4L Ecotec engine is available. However, on the 2LT trim levels this engine is included in the equipment group. The 5 speed manual transmission is standard on all the trim levels of both the HHR and the Panel HHR of this model year.

The 2.4L Ecotec engine is available on the 1LT trim level, but it is included on the 2LT trim level for the 2011 model year of the HHR. The 5 speed manual transmission is standard on all the trim levels of the 2011 Chevrolet HHR.

Sincerely,
Michelle, Chevrolet Customer Service

Michelle,
Thanks for all the excellent information. This should qualify for a sticky or addition to one at least. Great to have you onboard! Now if we could get GM to come out with a revised HHR on the Cruze platform.....built in the USA

Dear motoretro,

You are very welcome. I have also documented your idea about revising the HHR on the Cruze platform.
