2010 HHR SS Turbo OR supercharger?
#3
Hoping to clarify a potential source of confusion:
HHR Cousin Cobalt stopped offering superchargers for 2008-2010, when the boosted Cobalt SS went turbo. All HHR SS's (2008-2010 only) were turbo. Engine RPO was LNF. Had much in common with those turbo Cobalts, dubbed "LNF" in the Cobalt community, to distinguish them from non-turbo Cobalt SS's.
So there has never been a supercharged HHR from the factory. A few na's have been upgraded. I would love to find a nice 2007 HHR 2.4 and retrofit a blower.

SInce it seems like someone here might know the answer, is a late supercharged version a good engine to use? I have the chance to get a zero mile leftover one for a project for a good price if it's a good choice? It would be going in an older Jeep pickup which came with about 60HP and I like the size weight and power for that application. But of course, not if it's got issues.

I think the supercharged one I'm talking about is from a Saturn. Purchased from GM to use as a dyno mule for supercharger development, but while they purchased the engine, the project was canceled just after they finished the baseline runs and it's been sitting on a shelf ever since.

The Saturn Ion Red Line Edition, 2004-2007. It used the LSJ.
