Welcome to the forum Billyv,
Here is a link to a thread that talks about it. There are a few under the howto section.

Hope this helps,

I seen that thread, being a recent buyer of my HHR I am a little new to the compatibility aspects of the years, that post was from 2006 do you think that the part numbers and procedures would still apply?

Yes, I have 2010 1lt and and I am doing the fog light install now then will do the steering wheel next. Parts are just not as cheap as they were then.
from gm parts direct I have the parts in my cart just need to buy them.
The link is:
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/

25812392 Steering Wheel Module COVER $20.04

25816515 HARNESS $11.18

Shipping & Processing & Handling: $20.91

Total:$79.50
Of course you can shop around for better prices.

Are you installing this kit in a 2011?

Steering wheel radio control part #'s

New to this forum. BillyV have you done this mod? I also have a 2011 1LT and would like to add the steering wheel controls. Do you have part #'s for what you needed for your 2011? Thanks Wireman

If you have not bought them yet there is a complete set in the Classifieds right now. Unless they have sold since this morning.

Great mod. Also, some of you might consider doing a wheel swap. It is sometimes cheaper than buying all of the parts. I purchased a brand new Cobalt SS leather steering wheel from our favorite auction sight for $65.00 shipped. Swap was easy.

Either way you will enjoy the upgrade. Good luck!

That's what I did, scored one off CL for $40, gives you radio controls, leather, and a smaller diameter wheel that feels a whole lot sportier. IMO this is the route to go.
