Traded my GMC jimmy 2000, 4.2 v6 for my 2008 2lt back in june. After tracking milage for three months I am saving 25% on fuel-like every forth fill-up is free. I travel from daytona to orlando 4 times a week -so I am happy!!!!

My fuel cost is 75% better!

I have a one ton, four door dually tow truck and it gets 5 to 12 MPG depending on load. I only have to tow loads a few times a year and the rest of the time it is just wasting gas as a daily driver. My fuel cost has went from $110 a week to about $25 a week. Curly like.

lake, sounds like we did a similar trade. I traded in my 99 Jimmy for my hhr, and i love that i did. I liked the offroadness factory of the jimmy (my family lives out on dirt roads in michigan and the snow can get crazy) but i'll learn to live. It was only a 2wd, so not too much change.

I don't know fuel costs but i do know that with the Jimmy was was averaging around 12mpg where i live because of the driving conditions (40mph average, stop and go, lots of hill) and now with the HHR just around town i get around 22-24, not bad to double it...

Yup, ain't it great! (Not to mention much more fun to drive to in my case )
Went from a 600 mile a week of back /forth to work thing in the Silverado to the SS, and now i spend easily 1/2 of what i used to every week. And like i said the drive is MUCH more fun

I swapped up from my 2001 Jeep Wrangler (about 12mpg around town if I'm lucky) to the 08 HHR, and I've just about doubled my fuel mileage (heavy foot)

Savings

Parked the 04 Denali (Would lose to much to trade in) and bought the 08 HHR with the money I save not driving it, 400 miles with Denali = $130.00.
400 mile with HHR = $55.00

Works for me
