It's all a matter of opinion as to weather its worth it or not. For me the 2LT had some standard items I didn't want. So for me, ordering a 1LT with the bigger engine and some other goodies was the way to go.

I wasn't too smart I bought the 1LT and could have taken the LS because the mods that I am doing would have covered the separation between 1LT and LS...Wheels and tires etc. I love mine, the 2.2 does fine for what I expect of the HHR. I would suggest looking at your plans for mods as wellas usage and let that be a major factor in your decision.

I bought a 1LT with the 2.2 auto. I have bright chrome, leather, 6 disc, Monnroof, spoiler, fog lights, upgraded floor mats and xm. I did not want to shell out the extra cash for the premium fuel for the 2.4 I have over 6500 miles now, and I love "Hurt" more than any other car I have owned. I average 28.6 mpg ang it seems to be getting better mpg each day.

Same here. I knew I would be purchasing my own custom wheels, suspension, stereo, etc. The only thing I did want from the 2LT was the leather wheel...but I passed. I couls always put a 'Vette wheel in I suppose? Actually, I prefer a 4-spoke wheel and am looking into the SSR wheel...

So, a 1LT with 2.4L, Auto, and running boards did it for me - at a BIG cost savings. (*that extra $4k could be spent on custom items! Wheels, tires, suspension, etc.)

Since people are in love with the Body style of the car. I predict in the future that more and more people will be swaping out the engine's down the road by either putting in V6's or V8's. Either there will be plenty of show cars or street race cars in years to come.

It is if you want those options. I got it all except the ONSTAR and the 6CD changer, it figured with the I-POD plug, who needs CD.

Thats why I bought the LS. I figure if I'm going to keep the car for a long time and do anything I want to it. I might as well get the LS. I want to put a
super charged 3800 out of a GPT in it down the road after warrenty is up.
I know It's not going to have the 4 banger for ever.

As I said earlier it boils down preference, personally I'm not crazy about leather interior only because it's so hot here in Florida. Although there is a company here in Orlando that does great leather interior and the leather they use is real soft and breathable. But to be honest, I don't care if it's a 2LT, 1LT, or LS, as long as it's an HHR it's all good to me. I would have probably orded an LS if I could have gotten the 2.4L in it. I know there are tons of performance goodies on the market for the 2.2 as opposed to the 2.4, and the latter has also got to deal with VVT, but like the SVTF I'm sure in time there will be lots of goodies for the 2.4L. I'm holding out for a supercharger for mine.

My site will help figure out if any option package is worth it to you. Just price out a single vehicle, select the features you want, and the program automatically selects the right packages.

The results page includes a break down of each selected package, showing about what percentage of the package's value you actually asked for.

Page for HHR: http://www.truedelta.com/models/HHR.php

Again, to get the package analysis, don't do a comparison.
