5000 miles.......

Bought my Summit White 2LT the same day I turned 5 years clean and sober, 12/11/07. So, 9 months and a few days later, today she clicked off 5000 miles.

Lots of mods, most of them to enhance the already good looks and lines of the HHR. A couple more to enhance the handling, none for performance. I really like this car alot. Despite the horrible city mileage (before I get a bazillion replies as to why) the car is not broken and runs really good, no complaints. 30+ MPG on the highways. Black tailpipe crap was my doing, I ran Lucas fuel treatment too much. Since I stopped that, it stopped too.

No brake problems, a couple of rattles here and there, not a biggie. I am considering getting an SS as this one is close to being paid off. I am hesitant though. I read all the complaints, concerns and have posed questions to the dealer to get that input. Brake and boost issues mostly. If I was certain the 09's at some point would have these issues addressed, I will get one. Until then, I roll with the one I have. Made some terrific friends here and look forward to HHR ownership for a long time.

That's the story so far.

Congratulations, Don--Car milestone, your own personal milestones, etc...I know how hard you've worked at all of these.
She's been a good car to you and looks great

Glad you've kept it.

See you and your regal summit white beauty in a few days with the rest of us OCD SOCal HHR owners!

Congratulations on both points!

i've had my HHR since June 2006 and I've 26K miles on it. I don't drive far to work but I love taking long trips in the HHR. Got one planned next month!

It's been 3 1/2 months and 4153 miles,as of today, for my HHR.That's more driving (it breaks down to 38.45 miles per day-pretty good trick when work is 5.5 miles one way) than what I was doing when I had my Audi.
