I'm goin to the mississippi gulf coast on vacation and the house is on the beach so the owner says '"I got a 450 ft pier to fish off of.""great i said so i tried to get 7 ft poles in the HHR with 3 people and luggage.here's what i came up with ... 4 inch pvc ,end cap, threaded hub and plug some strap and a can of paint.,universal roof rack cross pieces. A rounded front cap would have better aerodynamics. Just kidding.Great job. Last trip I just strapped 6 rods to the top of our Explorer and out in the weather.

Nice job on the rod holder 55bowtie, and you know that any good Kannapolis boy would never waste a perfectly good rocket on a PT, right Al?

Yep, that will work. The only way your getting it inside, is with the right, rear and front, seats folded down. I have carried a seven foot ladder that way, but I was alone in the car.

I seriously like that. Nice job! Do you think the stock rails and the universal cross pieces could handle a couple of 50lb kayaks?

Looking at your carport it looks like we have something besides a red HHR in common. Even if ours is a bit older.
