About to turn 100k...what to look for that will need fixing
Wow! 100K on a 2007. That's a testimony to how well they hold up. My wife's 2006 only has 53K and she runs it back and forth to work 5 days a week. We probably won't make it to 100K before we sell/trade it.
I was thinking of trading for a smaller better full economy car but found out a HHR with 100K on it is not worth squat lol ...4K if you find a generous dealer
So will get the timing chain issue looked at in the next 2k miles before the warranty runs out and also address the suspension issues...hopefully get it all taken care of for under a grand.
Like I said, I have hardly had to sink a dime into this car in over 4 years so yeah, I can't really complain
Well except for the little bubbles that look like they are forming on the bottom of the doors on the inside...thought I saw a thread awhile ago on this that it probably rust issue
hmm will do a search

Yeah, my '06 has the rust bubbles on the inside lip of the door..... and mind you that car has only been driven in 2 winters, and you can tell that it was taken care of...
I've heard though that if you sand and repaint them, the chances of it coming back is high, and someone even said it could make it worse... I sprayed rust proofing in the doors, and since it doesn't see salt I figure that's good enough, at least for now. The corrosion warranty is only for rust-through, which is near impossible now a days in that amount of time.

I'm not going to start doing all that sort of work on a car with 100K on it....good to know what peeps are trying though

Moot point now..traded the HHR in on a 2010 Honda Fit Sport tonight. My wife got one last year and I have been envious of her 40 plus mpg and minuscule cost at the pump!
Gonna miss the heated leather seats for sure but the car is a fun little car to drive. I do a 100 miles per day r/t commute so this is gonna help a lot in the wallet especially where gas prices are heading

Guess I need to cancel that service appointment I made with Chevy dealer today :)

Yep! I sure did! But wasn't looking to spend that much on a commuter car ..plus with only 2 seats it didn't fit into the family yet lol
@Crazy- yep it says 33 mpg but my wife's Fit has done quite a few 40+ mpg runs especially in the summer.
The HHR was one of the best cars I have owned...ever....in fact I was looking at the Cruze yesterday as well but for the money they want combined with the rock hard seats it was a no go....also I've pretty much sworn of sedans and like the versatility of a hatch so the Fit met all the criteria I was looking for in a commuter car
Sub 16K
Hatch
Great mpg
somewhat sporty
Fun factor
