accelerates too much

On recently bought 2007 LT when I barely step on gas pedal it accelerates a lot.
This is unnerving and dangerous when I go up the ramp in my parking lot.
I constantly have to make sure I don't drive up on another car or pedestrians.

I looked to make sure the mat was not interfering with the pedal.
Looked under hood to see if there were any pulled vacuum hoses but don't see any.

What could be causing this?

Yes you can clean the throttle plate as a test.
Are there any codes ?
How long has this been going on ?

There are no codes.
I've had the car only 2 months and from the beginning I noticed it accelerated a bit but in the last few days it is more so.
Is there a link for the proper procedure on how to clean the throttle body?

Do I need to disconnect the battery before I remove the throttle body?

There really is no need to do that.
I think the hardest part is removing the air filter box.

No need to remove throttle body, Disconnect the electrical connector first. Do not pry the butterfly open.

I recommend disconnecting the battery, and not touching the throttle body valve plate(butterfly) .
that way you don’t break those tiny plastic gears .
I do remove the four bolts and lift the throttle body enough to spray the engine side of the throttle body.

Maybe it's the old drag racer in me, but I'm not seeing a problem here....
