After 7 years and 150K miles...

After 7 years and 150K miles I still love this car (2006 1LT, 2.4, 5 speed).

It's still fun to zip through the gears and the engine revs to redline smoothly without power dropouts (even hit the rev limiter once in a while).

The car does everything well from carrying 5 people to 8' 2x4s to 12 rolls of insulation (everything but the drivers seat was packed full).

Earlier this year I bought a 2006 1LT 2.4L automatic from a fellow forum member from another state. This is the vehicle for my wife and son to drive. So we have 2 HHRs now.

Soon, more kids will be driving and I am hoping to find a used SS 5-speed for me and I will give mine to the kids. Then we will have 3 HHRs.

Not a day that I haven't enjoyed driving mine.

(We'll just skip over the day a drunk driver hit me, that kinda sucked all around)

I have 96k on my 09 and just got an estimate from the local Chevy dealer to do all the 100k service.

Now I have to decide to spend between $1500 and $2000 or trade it in. It still looks like new except for the rock chips from traveling all over the US.

What is on the 100K service that costs $1500-$2000?

Does this include struts/shocks/LCAs/sway bar links, etc?

That and-

Battery
Serpentine Belt
Plugs
Transmission Flush
AntiFreeze
Back Pads
Air Filter

I know the dealer will be higher than an independent shop but I feel better using them.

fastsuv,

I'm glad to hear that you're still enjoying your vehicle 7 years later. If you need some help locating the new vehicle of your interest I would be happy to help.

I must be slow. 7yrs and only 107K. Only issues so far, The usual clunking in the front end. Changed cam position sensor, and in the process of changing out the pass side rear PW motor.

If that's the case then we're slower. We bought ours 11/8/2005 and sold it 3/2/2013. 7 years 4 months. But we only had 72000 miles on it at the time.
