'09 LT....174,000. Changed cam position solenoid, normal front end parts, and routine oil service.

Currently waiting on parts to arrive to do the HID Projector retrofit.

 

When did you do most of the front end repairs and what items did you have to replace? I have the clunking noises but no unusual tire wear and it drives straight as an arrow with no pulling. Debating whether to spend some money are bail out.

PS-About 75% of my 97k miles was driven on the open highway on mostly better than average roads.

 

Have a good front end shop inspect it. Around here every time I get new tires the force me into a free alignment check, some of them will do it without purchase.

 

I had it checked at 75k and they said it was alright. Maybe they just are going to clunk with no adverse effects. On a smooth road it rides great.

 

There's no way that should cost you $2000. The parts should only be around $200. I'd definitely stay away from that garage. Go somewhere else.

 

The figure was closer to $1500 and that included reworking almost all the front end components. It is not a garage but the local Chevy dealer. Probably a mute point as I am leaning more on getting a new vehicle.

Drove a loaded Sprint and liked it but just a little to small. Wife can't get out of a Cruze as they set so low. Hard to get away from a hatchback after this long.
