I do not have a bypass module, but are looking into one, Dball, or Passkey. The
Viper also has remote start. From what I can sell, it's stock, no extras wires
running to any door switches, and I do not see a hood pin switch. Had to be
a coincidence.

I just got the HHR and are just looking into the mechanics, electronics, and physics.

I also see I have two antennas? One up front, and one at the back?

Also, I know the trick for the locking while exiting, but I need to turn off the
auto unlock when I pull the key from the ignition. I think I saw a way to program
that out.
The rear sharkfin is the OnStar/XM antenna.

I thought you said you read the Owner Manual, it has instructions for the DIC starting on page 3-40 and continuing for a few pages.

Look for a wiring harness going to the hood latch, the stock ajar switch is integral to the latch. Some after market kits add a plunger switch.

Were you asking what type of security? That is pretty well covered in the OM also, starting on page 2-16.

On modern cars you don't need to run extra wires to the doors for security, you can tap into the wires at the BCM. That is the correct place to insert the door lock resistor, I have done that as well as the RS without AP3 hack.
An interesting point is that you can rig the after market RKE and still use the factory installed RKE.

Check your PM.
