GM didn't equip my unit with remote start butt warmers. Geeze, my wrist is killin' me from turnin' the key. Maybe I can wage a lawsuit against GM for carpal tunnel syndrome?

It's the right thing to do in the milllenium, right?

I sure am glad the HHR has a starter and that I was born after the crank start era.

JuMPy -- I will have a circuit which will automatically turn on the seats while the remote start is active, and will resume normal function once you step on the brake, or possibly with a timer, not sure yet -- CHECK BACK!!!

Sno White -- You should know me by now, that I always have a nice write-up on good **** for our cars!!! PATIENCE MY HHR FRIEND!!! I should have a write-up this weekend, if i'm lucky! Soldering will re required though!!!!

Lil Red,

See these two threads:
https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-tutorial-library-21/how-add-gm-remote-start-without-option-ap3-28551/
https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...t=27502&page=2

There are other threads as well, but I don't remember where they are.

You will have to get the correct FOB(s) and have it/them programmed to the vehicle.

Well I did it. I found the "Purple" wire and grounded it out. Since I don't have a fob that has a VRS bottom, I just hold down lock then hold down panic bottom and it started right up. Didn't have to get any programing done. Great Mod for winter time.

The vehicle does not permit this, probably for saftey reasons - not because GM hasn't thought of it.

If you make this modification pease be sure to advise your insurer.
