Ok, so the verdict is out: total disaster... On wet corners, it feels like driving on ice. On faster corners, it feels like the car is "wandering" over the wheels. On 50+ mph, the car vibrates/whobbles. Putting back the factory alu winter tires and everything is fine.

There is definitely something wrong with one or more of these whitewalls. Ridiculous amount of balancing weights on three of them. On the same chrome/steel wheelies, I had Michelin tires before, which only needed a fraction of the balancing weights and no vibration. So the chrome rims are definitely ok.

I had them mounted by my trusted mechanic (40+ years of experience), who has done all my wheels to my satisfaction. This and his new balancing machine lead me to believe he did the best job possible under the circumstances.

Coker Tire doesn't respond to my emailed questions regarding the amount of balancing weights. I guess it's useless to ask them for a refund because I cannot prove to them that the tires are sh*t. Extremely disappointing regarding the product and the sales company.

Are there any other known options for whitewall tires?

Coker kind of indicates that the WWW tires are "for show only". Have you looked at the WWW insert things? Like these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/184327639258?hash=item2aeac890da:gFIAAOSwR5dXRJP n&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwHZICN6IbjUmGbuENnn3KLDLdAU Brv9DpFhijszaOPST4upOG2clxnZQGSJNfwqXr6oYBYA1DG%2B dLf6U5V1oOUlCTGp4Al8CXc0v3FQlKhdEpFZl9JU61q1WdHqnK 0WgV9EKvS3wK0RyVNPp%2Fd6KEoxwcm0GdeUO3bd%2Bc3QR%2F F8MknZYh1LD3waLdxtiI3a6QnZTBj1hno8g82kuPYmKrGIiU6% 2FGeh4%2F5KQDvrbld0vBiBHRXGsicpUAOof2x%2Bz06Q%3D%3 D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR9b88LGBYg

There are lots of listings on ebay for WWW tires. Summit Racing, JEGS etc

I'd agree with you SwissHHR you got duped on the tires. I'm thinking you bought these for both style and performance and only got one of them.
Being out the USA your return options maybe limited or not available.

The tread looks modern design pattern and the wide whites old school of course. I'd agree with donbrew look like poorly made and the photo showing the seam between sidewall and tread shows that too.

What you're specifically looking for I haven't seen. It's usually wide whites for show not for the go (performance in real world driving)
The balancing issues confirm that with your Cokers. Never using any method should a properly made tire take that much weight to balance.
I started mounting tires early in life bias ply the sizes started with letters L-78-15 were the big ones.
Always washed the blue protective coating off for the customer gleaming white 1" stripes rolling out on the street.

I started busting tires in 1968 and managed a tire store in the 70's. Michelin radial tires were rare and expensive, the letters were just starting they still sold old fashioned size tires. Balance on bubble, On car "spin balance" was extra and BS didn't work on the new fangled disc brakes.
I never saw a tire with more than 4 oz of weights and most over 1 oz were recaps.

Don- Those Porta-wall whites need to be used on tires with inner tubes..
I put a set on my 1958 Caddy in high school..

Bummer to hear that Coker even made those wonky tires.. I would fight with them about this..

When founder Corky built the co. I don't think this would happen.. But as I previously stated, he sold out to for big $$, to some foreign dude.

I managed to get a refund for the American Classic tires from Coker (total amount minus the shipping costs, better than nothing...). They requested pictures of a hole drilled next to the DOT code on the tires to have proof that they are decommissioned.

Thank you, Oldblue, regarding mentioning Diamondback. I wasn't aware of them. They would indeed have a suitable tire (https://dbtires.com/product/diamond-back-touring/). But at the moment the project is kind of stuck because of too high shipping costs for my taste...

You are welcome, order when the price of shipping comes down…..maybe someday.
Glad Coker stepped up and refunded you , but what shipping costs did they pay for? The initial shipping from them to you? They quoted me $450.00 shipping 10 years ago from their warehouse to me here in Canada. But free shipping in the lower 48 states.

.
Good you got the cost $ back, they should have refunded shipping as well for Defective tires.. Man, used to be Coker was a super tire company. New foreign ownership.. Not good.
Mecum used to promote Coker tires, & had their logo on the stage, etc.. Haven't seen any or heard any promoting since you got burned. Something changed in a bad way..
