Like my title says, I'm looking for somebody who owns a Chevy Cobalt. I need a few measurements for a project of mine. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes of your time.

Well one of my coworkers has a Cobalt Coupe, she might not mind the "car guy" from the office across the hall taking a tape measure to it.

What sort of dimensions do you need?

If the car has an armrest there is a cover/ cupholder at the rear of the consol that just pops off. I need the measurements in the pictures here. There will be a bracket for the armrest that raises it for the 1 to 2 measurement. 3 to 4 is just the mounting bolts for the armrest itself. I just need from the center of one hole to the other.

Well I "outrank" Debbie, so I'll see if she'll consent to some tinkering with her car tomorrow, can't promise anything....but maybe picking up her tab when the deli brings our lunch will do the trick.

If she does allow you to take the measurements and you have a PayPal account let me know and I will send a payment to you for buying her lunch. Thanks!!

Well I learned several things today....

1. Debbie's office which has one path through the piles of crap/papers/boxes, makes her Cobalt look clean and neat in comparison.

2. Cobalts didn't all come with center armrests.

3. Hers doesn't have an armrest, and the cupholder part is stuck fast so firmly with spilled cokes and coffee that I couldn't pry the bloody thing loose.

4. The Chevy store near me has the armrest and bracket in stock, and they don't mind if I scoot by tomorrow to get the measurements you need.

5. I'm glad it was "cold" today, because she uses her backseat as a garbage can, and it only smelled enough to turn me slightly green.

Sorry for the delay, I even checked the Cobalt forums for the measurements you need, no luck I'm afraid.

P.S. She really likes my "PT Cruiser".....

Wow. Thank you so much for the effort you are putting into this. I suppose I owe you an apology for Debbie using her backseat as a dumpster. I even registered on the Cobalt forums and asked the same question and not a single person has even responded to my post, and that was 2 weeks ago.

No apologies needed, I just hate seeing cars abused like that.

If I can sneak out tomorrow at lunchtime, I'll have the dimensions tomorrow night, if I can't get clear of the office like I want too....I'll definitely get to the Chevy garage on Thursday for you.
