yep i,v restored them also for years , for a builder that restores them i do all the metal, mud,and block work and make them ready to go in the booth ,,
honest most of them i,m now restoring early 1970's never thought it would come to that , but as most the older the more cash!!! when u get busses bringing $200,000. plus now it gets costly,,, but as to bugs any thing pre 67 still wins ,,
restored this 68 bug for a gilroy first responder . bug lover she rode in her grandmas bug and had to have her own it got her a 1st place in her class at a very well known vintage vw show ,,

HotRod, what year of HHR are people wanting does engine or LT version make any difference?
I put a Corvair engine in a '57 Bug with a tunnel case trans. Only problem was the "hood" didn't sit flush. If there was an aftermarket lid for this it would have cleaned up the back.
