Oldblue came with no running boards when new but with the mud guards, the dealer installed the running boards a month later the OO complained about stone chips.

I don’t think you can put mud flaps on the front with the running boards. I had a plain vanilla 2008 with no running boards and always intended to get the nice custom fit flaps, never did it. (snip)
I added GM "splash guards" (mudflaps) to my 2LT, they fit fine with OE running boards..
