Bird Strikes

At first I thought it was just a phase, or a run of weird luck.
So far I have hit at least 1 bird a week since we got our HHR.
My wife thinks it is the color.(Silverstone) For some reason the birds are not seeing it or it is confusing them..... her other idea is somehow the air flow around the vehicle is causing the birds to be 'pulled' to-wards the car.
I don't know what is causing the Kamikaze like behavior.

On a side note, my wife has named the HHR.

FALCON

Score so far: Birds-0 HHR-18

LOL....That description you just made sounds like what race cars experience what is known as DRAFTING....Where 2 cars are lined up and the trailing car is being *Sucked* by the lead car due to the lack of air resistance that the trailing car is not experiencing ..but I don't think that applies to birds..LOL!!!!

Could it just be the Name, Falcons do get smaller birds?

She named it after it started eating other birds.

Cobbs took out a dove that was in the middle of the roadway and was too slow to get airborne and climb to a safe altitude. This dove was introduced to Cobb's bright chrome grille @ approx 35mph in an abrupt and violent manner. Cobb's driver, me, uttered some profane verbage in fear of potential damage, but upon inspection the grille was unharmed. Cannot say the same for the dove.

My dad hit a big wild turkey with his HHR, took out the windshield ,dented the roof, & broke the inside mirror!!! If it would have hit any lower, probably would have ended up in his lap! Sounds a little like Fabio, huh?

Good thing our Vice President wasn’t in your neighborhood at the time. Both Cobb and the dove could have been winged.
