It goes through your stereo system.

I still hear it through my drivers side tweeter when I play CDs. I never listen to the radio. I notice it more the lower the volume. If you crank the stereo you can't really hear it.

I wired my aftermarket stereo "direct" - bypassing all the chimes, beeps & signals. I can now play my tunes with the door open (no chimes), drive with my seatbalt unhooked (I do this for about 150ft when pulling into my driveway), and of course; no turn signal clicks to ruin the tempo of my song!

Lovin' life now...

I never knew it went through the radio speakers. Mine has been acting up and not making any noise when engaged; I haven't taken it to the dealer yet. It only happens on a rare occasion but it's still annoying when your turn signal is on and you don't hear it (even when the radio is turned off). I like the sound of it; the HHR, as well as my old car (ION) had/have a unique noise; more-so than my father's TrailBlazer and my friends' C230s and Golfs, etc.

I hate the tweeter noises. I love my factory stereo with 6 disc changer, but I can't stand the turn signal clicking coming from the speaker.
