bought it!!

Well, I went and saw that ss yesterday and bought it. clean carfax, auto, stg 1, auto, single cd radio. Love the handlingreminds me of an Omni GLH I have in '84' turns like a go-cart. Silver 87, you nailed it, that's the car, got it for$14.5 k after some crying and wimpering on their end. Seriously, the people there are great, friendly, and helpful. Very efficient, I was out of there with the car under three hours after road test. And it certainly was an entertaining test, the boost stays up, and the brakes also had a workout. I want to thank all of you for your great advice and support

You're right! It does handle like a GLHS. I had a Shelby CSX in 1989, and the HHR SS is very similar. However, I believe it rides better without giving up any handling. And the lack of torque steer (compared to the GLHS/CSX family) is amazing. With only 175 HP, those Shelby's would take the wheel out of your hand. My HHR has a little torque steer, but not enough to matter.

I had two GLH Turbos late 80's early 90's. I don't have an SS but was wondering why you think the SS handles like the GLH?

I miss those cars. The torque steer was pretty crazy but lot's of fun to see Camaro and Mustang driver jaws drop when I screamed past them in 3rd gear. "Was that a Volk Rabbit that just smoked me?" lol...
