Brake Issue (Again)

Mine is a 2008 HHR. I bought it used in 2009 w/24000 miles. It spends most of it's life being towed behind a motor home. I have had brake problems since the start. The answer has always been to replace rotors or pads or both. I now have 49000 miles and have done this 4 times. By the way, my rotors and/or pads sometimes get so hot that my hub caps melt and disappear (I've also replaced 5 hub caps - always on left front). All service has been performed by a dealer. Now they have no clue as to a solution. Does anyone else have an idea?

Sounds like the calipers are hanging up, not releasing all the way. There is a lube spot that's not being done when the dealer is doing the job.

Find another Dealer, what does the current Dealer have to say about yer melting hubcaps ??

I agree with Greybeard, caliper(s) likely hanging up, causing the overheating. May even need rebuilt.

Hung calipers, need replaced at this point, find another dealer A.S.A.P. Sorry to hear you've been through the ringer four times with the same issue.
