Cabin Air Filter on a 2006
Cabin Air Filter on a 2006
Folks,
Guess I'm just missing it. My glovebox is on top. I removed it and ran into more plastic. Didn't see it from the front passenger side. How do I gain access to it?

It's at the very top of the passenger side glove box. You've gotta release the tabs holding the glove box door on to drop the door, and then there are three clips that hold the filter in place (not that it needs them with how snug it fits in).
Here's a couple of pics to help you find it........
It's listed in the owner's manual under "Maintenance II" schedule. When you change the oil, this filter should be changed as well (i.e......Once a year or about every 10K). And as Old Lar said.... maybe more often in dustier conditions.
My 06 came with a new cabin air filter. When I finally do my first oil change, I'll check my filter to see how it held up during my normal driving conditions.
I dont live in a dusty climate at all...but i do drive ALOT...so I'll be sure to change it as soon as it needs it.
remember...if your cabin filter is dirty...your engine's air filter is probably DIRTIER, and more important.

They need to make these things easier to check (across the board, not just Chevy). You'd be surprised the labor involved in simply checking to see if it's dirty. Oh, I think I answered my own question...
