There is one thing about this thread that confuses me. I always thought ceramic coatings were created as a thermal barrier. I don't think they were specifically designed to keep heat in or keep heat out but yet could do either or both depending on application.

The Delorean had "sandwich" stainless steel body panels....but, your point still stands.

The painted CGS is installed!

Too dark out for my cheapo digcam, so I'll take pictures at a later date.

That Outlaw filter did not really like being coaxed into it's resting place. Any tips to make it easier to remove when it comes time to clean it?

ok, so we went for a ride and after hitting a few bumps on the trashy road near our place, the intake seems to vibrate annoyingly.

I've got the support bolt tightened as much as it will tighten, and it still vibrates.

Any ideas? tips? Am I a bonehead?

Tip: The back side of your filter element is hitting the fender.

Loosen it up with a screwdriver and pull the bottom of the element forward.

It sometimes helps to place a small piece of weatherstripping or a rubber bumper on the bottom metal edge to prevent this noise (*which usually only happens at idle while in gear.)

Hope it helps,

That's exactly (and only) what it happens. Ok, so it's not me being a lame brain and not knowing what I'm doing.. not in this case at least.

Thanks, Mike. Appreciate your tip.
