They provide better stopping than drums.

And LOTS more dust on the rims!

Personally, I'm very glad the HHR comes with drums in back. Every car I've had rear discs on has been a pain. I've put the rear drums through some hard testing with emergency stops from 110mph when a jerk in a trailer pulled across 3-lanes getting on the freeway (while some jerk in a new HHR was going 110! ). No complaints here. I love the drums!

Disc may make more dust, but drums are ugly.
Also, with braking being heavily biased toward the front of cars, the rear dust is minimal in comparison to the front. A non-issue in my opinion.

No car in 2005 should even be available with drums.
I was sorely disappointed when I saw there wasnt even a disc option.

Same here, I totaly agree 100%. My Mustang had 4 wheel disks and the rear were never dirty, it was always the fronts that were dirty.

The Camaro, C5 vette, and full size pick-ups all seem to be the opposite. They wear out the rears faster, ans usually the rears are covered with crap, but a disc option would have been nice.

Back in the '60's I used to drive a Renault and it had dual horns that you activated by pushing on a lever off of the steering column......whatever......it was European and had to be different, right, but the nicest feature was the city/highway switch that went from single to dual with a different tone for each. I have always thought that this was a greatly miss used item on the car... after all it is one way of signalling to another driver, and should have two tones, one for polite exchanges and another for not so polite exchanges.
Oh! On the issue of braking, I think these brakes work great. I used to own a car with four disc's and there was always an issue with the park brake working or not, even had a factory recall that said I should block me wheels and avoid parking on a hill. GM stopped producing that car...just when it started to look good...'88 Fiero!!!!!

Discs - if you do the maintenance/repair are easier to replace

for Horns.. I've changed my horn, bought the PIAA 500/600 dual horn setup which replaces the stock single horn.. Now it has authority....
