Changes or Additions to 2008 Model
I think it would be fun if they came out with different colors every year. One year as we drove through California, we saw Volkswagon bugs in all different colors, reminded me of a gum ball machine. Not that there's anything wrong with basic colors, but it's nice to mix in different things, and an HHR "is" different. A breath of fresh air in the car idustry, after years of having most cars pretty much look the same, it's nice when an HHR goes by and people want to know what it is.
We were at a mall the other day, and I kid you not, we looked around as we walked to our car and there were only white and silver cars parked in front of Kohl's, and three red cars. Doesn't anyone out there like colors?
Hey Snoopy! How about adding a Snoopy nose on the front of your car? On second thought, maybe it wouldn't be a good idea, you might end up getting followed by a flock of little yellow birds.

Same here. I have had my HHR for almost 11 months and in that time I have seen 4 other HHRs. One was white, one was black, one was sport red and one was orange. Saw the sport red three times in one week and the others only once. The dealer claims to have sold a couple dozen 2006 and 2007 combined. Don't know where they are and this is a small city!
Does anyone have any idea when 2008 model announcements get officially made?
Becuase I hate to say at this point, if there are no changes for the 2008 model interior-wise, I think I'm jumping ship. I've really enjoyed being here and part of the community, still love the hhr and the prospect of maybe owning the SS.
But I have the itch to get a new car and have for a couple months now, I rented a hhr for a few days and came away with mixed feelings (see my other posts). I've since been considering other options and have stumbled on the new 2008 Scion XB. I have not driven one yet, but when they arrive at dealers in the next week or two I am anxious to see what I think. I really think the impression will be positive and I think I may end up going that route.
It would be nice/easier to make that decision if I knew more about the SS model or any possible changes to the interiors of the 2008's.

Is the XB the little box style? I hear they get good gas mileage, and I had suggested it to my husband but he thought it was too small to haul our camping gear. The HHR is pretty roomy, or so it seems, and we're getting really good mileage so far in the month we've had it. And we LOVE the looks. We're getting a pretty comfortable ride as well.
The car we're replacing is a 2000 Saturn Station wagon, which really got good gas mileage, and which is a good car. We're only parting with it because we love to travel, and we've got 96,000 on it, though we do believe it's got a lot of good miles left in it. We've taken really good care of it, but we don't want to risk getting stuck out in the middle of nowhere when things do start to go. I see a lot of little Scions out there. Our neighbors daughter has the sporty looking Scion and loves it. Best thing to do is rent the car you're thinking of buying, it really helps.

Besides quite a few Orange and Silver, I've seen 3 or 4 other Sandstone HHRs around here. The other colors seem to be sort of sparse. We've grown to love the Sandstone more as time goes by. I'm just hoping it holds up well over the years under this "Relentless" Arizona sun.
HHR NATION IS GROWING
We now return you to the thread for comments/questions/ideas for the 08 model.
