Chevy MyGMLink VIN registration

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the VIN registered on the Chevy MyGMLink site?

Sometimes you have to call and bug them about it. It was faster to get them there and then to key it in. I had to do this with couple of my cars.

Just shoot them an email. They will get it done in about 24 hours. If you do not do it that way, it might be months before it is done.

When I set mine up in December, I figured they were busy over the holidays. By mid-January I emailed them. It was all set in less than a day. The MyGMlink site is a help!

Let's you record your vehicle stats, repair records, etc. If you register your VIN, you are supposed to get faster notifications on recalls. I use it to track my repairs, oil changes, etc.

JimZ,

I bought my mine in June. Went to GM link and tried to enter my VIN and this is the message I got:

"If you purchased your vehicle within the last 60 days, your VIN will not be in our system at this time."

So I guess it would be sometime after 6o days from the date you bought your vehicle, that you'll be able to register your VIN. Jeesh you'd think in the 21st century things could move faster than this

I entered my VIN number and waited the 60 days as instructed, nothing happened, so I sent them an email, bingo the next day my VIN number appeared.

I also use it as a tool to keep track of all of maintenance performed on my HHR.

Just as a side note, all warranty work performed by your Chevrolet dealer will appear as well.

Regards,

HHRANDY
