cigarette lighter auto shutoff?

does the cigarette lighter automatically shut off after a certain time? my devices seem to be staying on even though the car is off.

'08 Panel.
I keep my GPS unit plugged in and it has a Red light on the plug, I just ran outside and looked in the window, still glowing Red.

I point it Down and it lights up the "HHR" between the power window buttons.

I didn't drive it at all today.

I don't know about the one in the back of the counsel or the far back one though.

Unless GM has changed, the power outlets are wired straight battery and will be hot 24/7. Chrysler/Jeep, at least Jeep, since we've owned 13 in the last 20 years in the family, are wired ign and turn on/off with the key. I'm a GM guy and have owned literally dozens of them in 40+ years of driving has always been a pet peeve of mine. I usually wire my nav/XM if I didn't have factory units, to my fuse box at an ign source with a cigarette lighter adapter with the male end cut off.

learned the hard way. I aiso have my garmin and sirius sat. dedicated to the two free cig. lighter slots. Came out to leave and no power cause they had both been running two night and days without interruption. Battery was dead had to jump it and now it is fine and now I unplug both devises if iam not using for a prolonged time. Live and learn!!!

The 20 minute battery saver is for the interior lights. Not sure about the waterfall lighter, but the center console is constant power. Also found that out the hard way.

all three of them on mine are powered all the time. I have added two that are only powered when the key is on. I also learned the hard way.

I think the Panel versions have an extra outlet in the cargo area.
