The NA 1SS's were in 2006 and 2007. Then the SS was dropped and they just became Sports in 08. But yeah the turbo did not come until mid year but still called an 08 like ours.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the info.

I swapped my first engine in 1962. Put a 1949 Pontiac flathead straight eight engine in a 1948 Pontiac business coupe. In those days you could put any engine in any car. We had fun putting Buick engines in Fords and Chevrolets.

Swapped engines in barns, under trees, summer or winter. Swapped so many that I could do it in an hour or two. Later my son was helping me at age ten. Those were the days.

I don't think I would want to swap an engine today, I can visualize a myriad of problems.

Still think the easiest way to big power in your HHR is ....buy an SS, they are an awesome little trucklet........
