Did a search, but couldn’t find anything. Wondering if a set of STOCK Cobalt SS springs would fit and make a difference on a Stock 2007 HHR. I guess I’m not worried about the fitting, as I know the cars are the same, but wondering if there would be a point.

I’m thinking the Cobalt springs would be stiffer and since they are “tuned” for performance, it would tighten up the HHR even just slightly. I don’t think it will lower the car one bit, but thinking it would help in the corners. The HHR is way looser in the corners then I was hoping for. LOL.

Thoughts?

 

I think there is a pretty good size weight difference between the two.

 

May be can fit there perfectly but as captain Howdy said weight difference could affect handling and don't perform as much as a Cobalt SS. But you could notice an improvement that's my

After seeing all the lovely lowered HHRs on here, its really making me want a set of Eibachs! :)

These are actually off my 2004 ION Redline, but they are the same as the SS. I'll toss em on and see what happends. I know it wont lower the HHR probably one bit, becaue the ION RL stock was sporting the 4x4 lift look. hehehe.

The ION weights in at about 2950-3100 give or take me (270+lbs) and my stereo equipment. Is the HHR really 3200+?? Wow. Doubt it will make too much of a diff.

I Just Looked These Up To Find That Depending On Options They Are The Exactly The Same Springs. Same Parts #s Cobalt Has More Spring #s

Meaning the Stock HHR has the same spring as the Stock Cobalt SS, or in my case the Stock ION Redline? That stinks!!!

 

That would actually make sense. The springs for a little heavier car would make a lighter car's ride firmer.
