I wonder why , the front grille is different in one picture and the front bumper is missing, then it appears with a different looking grille in another picture?

in picture #6 the transmission looks well used, and there is no flywheel cover , or if you look close , where is the torque converter?
it’s a very nicely done resto mod, but I wouldn’t bid online for it!

First picture, no filler panel or bumper, but grill looks the same to me.
You got a good eye, no torque converter.

The first grille looks polished show chrome, the other photo with the filler panel and bumper( loose those chrome bumper bolts) looks more original nickel and chrome

That looks to be the lighting when picture was taken.
Indoor florescent lighting.
Bumper bolts can grow on you.
Kind of goes with the theme of white and chrome.

I’m a more detail kinda guy, weld the bolts and smooth them over, then either chrome the bumper or paint it, but IMO they are stand out sore thumbs.

This Panel has been on Ebay several times. Used to be just black/ dark primer, then this color w/stripe. And seller always shoots pics in same spot.

Something is up, no one has snagged it. & They are not showing as many pics as Ebay ad did.

Supposed to be good runner, (as the ad read) but I don't see a torque convertor either.

So the Wikipedia entry says the ‘47 Suburban was the inspiration for the HHR but I just stumbled on a YouTube with Nesbitt saying it was the ‘49.

This was the inspiration. 1947 thru 1953 Subs & Panels were pretty similar, just subtle changes.
