I'm just curious everyone, does your engine sound like Wheelie's?, Wheelie's engine has a unique sound to it I think, the best way I could describe it, if if you ever seen the movie THE WRAITH with Charlie sheen and Randy Quaid, the black car that was used in the movie had a very unique harmonicalike sound., and Wheelie's engine sounds just the same!

Does your HHR sound the same?...I have the 2.4 liter engine, but I wonder if the 2.2's have it too...

I have the 2.2 It sounds more like an accordian.

No noises here, just a purring little motor

 

very funny HHRCrafty..LOL....I usually watch animated movies, but I love movies that have car chases, any movie that has CARS and Auto Racing as a main theme, I watch, The Wraith just happened to be 1 movie that I liked, although the whole resurecting ghost thing was weird to me., The car chases in that movie were good tho!

 

Firewatcher, THAT IS A GREAT description of the sound MY HHR makes, ahh!, then it's the same then!. =)

 

I found the 2.2 and the 2.4 to have different "exhaust" tones when I rented both of them. I liked the sound of the 2.2 better but that really didn't play a part in my purchasing decision

Hmm, I will have to dig out my video tape of THE WRAITH. It seems to me that the 2.4 I have does not have the old lawnmower sound I hear with most 4 bangers. It almost sound like a purring V-8. Nice low rumble.

WRT Taste in movies, guess me makes 3.

Mine sounds like about four squirrels going around in hamster wheels. V-8 rumble my ass. I think the 2.4 is about one of the loudest raspiest 4 bangers I have ever heard. No wonder they make the firewall out of quiet steel.
