CV Axle Replacement
So my son's 2008 LT needs the CV Axles replaced. I've never done this before, but the videos online seem pretty straight forward.
Two questions for the group:
#1 I'm assuming I should replace the inner seals while I have it apart. Is that the consensus or, if they aren't leaking, let sleeping dogs lie?
#2 Are the original GM parts still available (I doubt it) or is there a particular aftermarket brand that have given good results?
As always, thanks in advance.
PS: Still trying to find shifter cables. Just found out the Matick Chevy in Michigan doesn't have them either. Very frustrating. I've order from four dealerships now that show them in stock when they actually aren't.

I’ve changed cv axles but not the seals it worked, but still whilst you have your hands dirty! And only change 1 axle at a time!

#1 if not dripping I'd leave 'em be. Moisten with a bit of silicone spray on the rubber and some grease on the axle seal contact area assembling.
#2 if your not in a hurry shop around. Re manufactured means different processes for various brands.
Check your LCA's while you're at it.
Good day
