Dash Pad, '09, Passenger Side? Help please?

Hi Folks, I am planning to add a '57 Chevrolet chrome dash script to my dash. I am going to install it on the dash pad in front of the passenger seat, just to the left of the far right, round, A/C vent. My question is, "What is immediately behind that dash pad?" I am planning to drill three holes for the locating pins on the script, and wouldn't drill deep, but is anything attached to the back of that plastic pad....like wiring or such? Many thanks and God Bless, Marc

I would just cut the locating pins off and use 3m double face auto tape. It's what I used and it's holding fine.

Pull off the top of the IP and find out. The passenger airbag is on top, but the module may be behind there.

I drilled two small holes to mount mine. Didn't have any problems. Drop down your glove box and you can see up inside better. Or take off the small panel on the side of the dash when the passenger door is open.

Hi Mike, I did the same this afternoon and it worked out great. I used my hand to turn the tiny bit instead of a power drill, so I wouldn't punch through and hit anything. The holes are tight enough that no adhesive is needed. Worked out great. The only hard part is figuring out what is "level" when nothing on the dash is a straight line. I spent 30 minutes moving a masking tape reference line until I got what I liked. That pad is a funny shape. If I look at the emblem from one angle, it looks too high on the left. From another angle it looks too high on the right. Sitting in the passeneger seat it looks swell. I think I got it right. :-) God Bless, Marc
