Cool Dealer dumpin'

Yep, the dealers are dumping the "06's to make room for the "07's... I saw a stick shift 2.2 LS for just under 14k and LT's with the 2.4 for under 17k .... But like someone said before, these are the leftovers. Still.... pretty cheap. Right now I am torn between a used "06 Dodge Magnum SXT and an HHR....

Oh yeah, they had one of those new 07 teal ones.... might look okay with some black spoked rims but after seeing it in person..... don't think it'll be a popular color with buyers.

I drove a rental Chrysler 300 with that same v6 motor. You would not be happy with the performance in your Magnum. Get the Hemi. No question about it. Those cars on that platform do not do well with that v6. Hard to keep up in traffic.

A local dealer here on Vancouver Island has no 06's but does have about 25 07's on the lot now and 25 more coming in the near future.........

Speaking of Magnums

The week after I bought my HHR, hubby got jealous and bought an SXT Magnum that had been customized by the dealership as a "toy" of one of the sons who work there too. They sent it out and brought back -- well, it's gorgeous. After they put close to 4000 miles on it, they sold it (to hubby). Since then we have been such a happy pair, with our respective forums and car club activities. If you decide on the Magnum, PM me and I'll give you the forums links. We were lucky to get a full new car warrantee and it was like getting 2 new cars... the deals are out there!! Personally, I am split between the 2 - for reasons of different uses. But Mitzi is MINE now and I love her and this forum.

I was originally planning on doing a factory order for my HHR, but while taking a test drive of an '07, our salesman found an '06 in their inventory that very closely matched what we wanted for options, so we got that instead (at a better price).

About the only thing in an '07 that I reallywant on my '06 is a working switch to turn the dome light on

Yeah most of those 2006 HHR's I looked at were stick shift. Probbaly why they were leftovers and so cheap. I'd personally want an automatic for the remote start feature. Well I am going to try test driving a 2.4 LT before I decide on that Magnum. I've already tested a Magnum last year and it felt solid. Each has it's good points and bad. I think the HHR would be better in the snow, be easier to park and get better gas mileage whereas the Magnum probably has a better ride being lower, wider and heavier. Each has it's own personality. The HHR is more retro, the Magnum more badass. I like both really, it's just that I've owned more Chryslers and they've been good for me whereas I'm not really familiar with the reliability of GM's.

another reason to get an 07: that 5/100 warranty
that's huge, to not worry about the powertrain until 2012 or 100K miles.
I would be all over that.
