Question dent near chrome on rear hatch

I've tried the search and just can't find it.

I just noticed that there is a dent next to the chrome bar on the rear hatch. I remember someone saying this is from closing it wrong. (wife's car)

Does anyone, Deb, remember this?

For the life of me, I can't find it either.

We have a huge discussion on this too!! I swear we do!!

Basically it comes down to this (If my memory servers me correctly)
By closing the rear hatch by pushing on the Chevy Symbol can cause dents on either side of either the symbol or the beauty bar itself (can't remember which)
Solution is to use the handle on the bottom inside of the hatch to close it. Or the main door itself (Careful not to push/pull too hard)

I least I'm not crazy!!

I thought there had been a few of us who had problems with this.

I was wondering how they took car of it?

Mike...check post #2 and 6-9 on first page. They talk about how to close hatch to avoid damage to hatch. That's the only place I have found in the forum discussions so far about this issue. Since you seem to have a great rapport with your dealer, I'd take it to them and see what they will do.

Like Howdy said...he had his repaired but it came back.

After a few of these I have become pretty adept with the search function, so if you can't find something...just post what you're looking for and someone will help you find it.
