Question for those that have installed it:

Does it really eat up usable space in the compartment?

it takes up a lil space. for those of you worrying that the tape is oing to fail after a while, its 3M VHB foam vinyl adhesive tape, heat makes it stronger and light does not really affect it. its also expensive too. whats on the little piece of plastic is about 3 dolars worth of tape.

Received and installed. My opinion it creates a slight clearance problem for my Garmin GPS mount, but hey it's cheap it's free.

Quite the opposite really. That 3M tape should bond better after it has been heated by the sun a time or two. I would wager that it would take more effort to remove after 2 years.

Now ask me how well double stick tape will hold up in a crash 5 years from now.........after the heat from the sun beating on the dashboard bakes it......I figure it will fall off most of our cars with in 1-2 years.
