Anybody else dislike these knobs. Can they be changed for different style or shaved off so they dont pinch.

Can someone who has done this tell me if it is possible to "cut" the metal lock under the plastic cover to make it even shorter? Honestly, I'd cut it down to below the door line if I could... I never plan on using the manual lock (knock on wood).

Hopefully what I'm asking makes sense. But what I'd want is when locked for the door lock to be flush/below the plastic of the door panel so you can rest your arm there with nothing poking you.

I think I might only do it on the driver's side until I'm sure I can't think of why I'd need it.

Yes it can be done. Read post #6 in the following thread.

I'm glad I did a search first, as I was about to start a thread about those d$%^ door lock knobs. I have lost count how many times I've had my arm pinched. WTF were they thinking!? I'm cutting mine off asap. Thanks for the info on this.

Note to moderator: how about starting a file called "HHR Fixes" or similar, and put threads like this in it? You could even further subdivide it into Interior fix, Exterior fix, Engine, etc...
