Doors won't unlock when put in park

Hello everyone:) I am having problems yet again with my 2006 HHR. This is what it is doing: I push the unlock button on the keyfob and the doors don't unlock. The headlights and the rest of the lights all light up but the doors don't unlock. Also when I go to push the lock button on the fob the lights all flash but the doors don't lock. When I get in the car to start it, I pull it out of park, the doors no longer lock. And the opposite when I put the car in park the doors don't unlock. I have no choice but to manually push the plungers up and down. Also, the drivers side power lock button on the door no longer illuminates. I checked fuse #26 under the hood and it works fine. I am scratching my head on this one. Could some body please help? I love my little buddy HHR. And I don't want to part with it.

First off try a battery lobotomy, disconnect the negative cable at the battery for 30 minutes.
This will reset the computers and the locks.
Also replace the battery in the key fob, it’s a CR2032.

I would look into replacing the rubber/carbon button part of the fob and also wipe the grid inside it with isopropyl alcohol being it's a 2006 key fob too.

Correct it’s a relay in postion #26 under the hood

The locks fuse is #26 on the BCM fuse panel under the console.
