Has anyone installed driving lights (lower front cowl) where none existed from the factory? Most of the HHRs I have found don't have them - stock only on a LT2? I'm looking at full panels and most are LS and a few are LT. I'll try to reply sooner :-)

FYI.
No such thing as a LT2 HHR. It's properly identified as a 2LT.
(2 before the LT because the LT2 is a code for something else Chevrolet)

Driving lights are like high beams, and should not be installed below the bumper. They are not very effective mounted that low, and are extremely dangerous to other drivers if tilted up even just a little.

Fog lights, in my experience, have been useless. I have driven in heavy fog, and the fog lights did not help at all. I think the problem is that the law requires the headlights to be on at the same time, which results in an illuminated white wall in front of you, actually blinding you so you can't even see what the fog lights are showing.

I learned to like driving lights when I was doing Rallies at night. A local sports car club used to do a rally that started at midnight and ended about 8 in the morning. I used to make my on installation. I would use a Chrysler starter solonoid with a lead from the battery through the main contact to the lights. For the control I would tap into the low beam and run it through a toggle switch to the solenoid control. Would that work on our HHRs or would that be too much current draw?
