factory fogs, only bulb is 9104?

is there a way to change the bulb size? i read one thread that someone said you MAY be able to drill the hole a little bigger to 7/8" and fit a 9006 bulb.

reason i ask is becuase i want to get some factory fog housings for my LS, but add HID's to them, and they dont make them in 9104 i dont think.

Well, I believe the factory's are 9140s, but you can put 9145 bulbs in. They're the same bulb but produce 45w as opposed to 40w in the 9140. It depends on which HIDs you want to put in, but the DDM Tuning models that are pretty popular (I have their headlights) use an H10 instead of a 9145- that's the closest I could find-

yea im going to go with DDM. do you have the 35 or 55w HID kit? im thinking about 55w's, but i want matching 55w's then for the fogs. my friends yukon has 55w in his heads and fogs and i like the way it looks. so a H10 = 9145, and a 9145/H10 WILL fit in the factory LS/LT fogs, without leaking or mositure build up?

I have the 35w kit. It definitely could be brighter, but I didn't want to be blinding everyone on the road (not having projector headlights in our cars, keep that in mind when looking at your friend's Yukon). If you really want a difference from stock, go with the 55w- I don't regret mine, and love the lights, but they're not a dramatic difference, but certainly noticeable.

As far as the fitment, I'm just going on what the ddm site tells me. I've test fit the 9145, and they're fine; the ddm site says H10 works in place of a 9145, although you likely won't find H10s in most auto parts stores. The autozone I went to (to try and test fit) didn't even have H10 listed in their computer as an option for any vehicle. I'm still going to order the H10s in a 35w this week for my fogs, so whichever one of us gets to it first should post the results

i just googled it, and you're right, H10 = 9145.

you will get around to it first on the HID fogs. i still have to buy the fogs and wire them in LOL

what temp are your headlights? my friends yukon has 55w 10000k, only reason he got that high is becuase he originally had 35w 8000k's, and he liked the color. the 55w 10000k are similar in color to the 35w 8000k's.

his factory fogs on his 07 yukon have melted a little from the 55w HIDs. his fogs look smaller than HHR fogs though. i think i will try the 55w's and see what happens.

ive also thought about getting projectors and retro fitting them in, but im not sure i want to mess with all that right now.

do you have pics of your 35w headlights?
