In all seriousness, I have yet to fold my SEAT flat. But now that I've read about it, I'll be ready when I need to get my seat flatened! Another lession learned!

Cool! Thanks for the info.
It didn't occur to me that I should also lift the handle on the side as well as the lever on the back of the seat.

So there was some useful info in this thread?

This is one of my favorite features in a car.

Now back to the entertainment: what's the longest object people have carried in their HHR?

A Pontaic Soltice.

Well at least the power wheels version in the 3'x5' box. Fit just fine.

Inbetween the jokes, I think what my fellow HHR.net members are trying to inform you of is that the passenger's seat has to be completely upright (via the handle on the lower right side) before you pull the small latch to fold it flat. I.E., if you try to fold it flat while the back is tilted, it will not fold completely flat.
Hope that helps! I noticed that issue when I first bought mine, too.

I had the same question and asked one of the sales managers at my dealer and he said it wasn't supposed to fold flat. So much for what they know

We seem to know more about the HHR than the Sales Staff. I hope thats not true for the gang that work on our HHR in the service department(s)!

The only time my seat has been folded was when the salesman showed me it could be done. That was about the only thing he showed me about the car that I didn't know. Most everything else I showed him. But I should give him a break, it was his first day on the job, and I was his first sale.
