Front crank seal and harmonic balance advice.
I'm gonna be replacing my front crank seal and harmonic balancer on my 09 2.2 it panel soon. I have a couple questions and was hoping you guys could help me out.
First question, what size socket could I use to push the seal in with?
2nd question, should I locktite, grease, oil,or silicone around the seal. I've heard many different opinions.
3rd question, should I grease or lube up the inside of the harmonic balancer, and the shaft it's self? To make it easier to slide on? Or to prevent crank cancer? I think that's about it for now. Thanks in advance.

No mention here, I use a 2 inch plumbing drain pipe , the seal goes in fairly easily.

This might help you.
I myself wouldn't use any grease to install the seal after cleaning the seal mounting area. The outside of the seal has a coating on it to prevent leaks.
On the inside lip of the seal you can use motor oil.

I went out and checked in a new crank bolt, it’s a 21 mm but I slid a 13/16 on it and a loose fit 7/8. Last resort.
the torque is 74ft lbs then 125 degrees, per AllData, my Haynes manual says 75 ft lbs then 75 degrees.
